Exeter Hot & Cold Gel Pack

• Hot and cold gel pack used to relieve pain and swelling
• Convenient for both hot and cold therapy

• Hot compress: helps reduce muscle spasms, muscle pain, and swelling
• Cold compress: helps reduce acute inflammation, pain, and swelling

Warnings:
• Use under the supervision of a physician or physical therapist
• Discontinue use immediately if the gel pouch leaks, as chemical exposure may irritate the skin

Contraindications and Precautions (Hot Compress Use):

• Do not apply heat to the following areas:
  • Areas with active bleeding (haemorrhagic areas)
  • Genital regions
  • Open wounds or infected skin areas

• Do not use hot compress if suffering from deep vein thrombosis (phlebothrombosis)

• Avoid applying heat to multiple body areas simultaneously as this may cause excessive blood vessel dilation, leading to low blood pressure and dizziness upon standing

Additional Precautions:
• Regularly check skin temperature to prevent burns due to inability to regulate heat
• Use caution when applying heat to:
• Patients unable to cooperate well
• Patients with tumors or tuberculosis
• Pregnant women
• Patients with circulatory dysfunction such as varicose veins
• Patients with thrombophlebitis (vein inflammation)
